Human Resources Director

Responsible for providing practical, consistent, and beneficial support, direction and advice to managers on HR procedure, policy, best practice, benefits, and legislation. Perform human resource work relating to payroll, hiring, employee relations, training, performance, termination, equal employment/affirmative action, records, safety and health, benefits and employee services.

• Provide practical and consistent HR guidance and advice to managers.
• Identify solutions to complex and diverse HR issues, and recommend appropriate action plans as dictated by laws and regulations.
• Coordinate management training for interviewing, hiring, terminations, performance reviews, safety, and sexual harassment and anti-discrimination regulations.
• Assesses organizational capabilities and identifies gaps. Actively participates with business leadership to source, evaluate, select and on-board talent
• Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
• Maintain Affirmative Action and EEO-1 compliance and reporting.
• Assist and advise Managers in matters regarding discipline and terminations, documenting action and compliance within legal guidelines.
• Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation and assist in the termination process.
• Develop and communicate personnel policies, maintaining and updating policy manuals as well as employee handbooks as needed.
• Drive organizational effectiveness and change initiatives focused on preparing organizations for future growth expansion
• Manage Payroll and Benefits Coordinator
• Oversee, benefit programs with HR Coordinator.
• Coordinate workers compensation and unemployment efforts as needed.
• Monitor all payroll data, ensuring FLSA compliance.
• Conduct recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees; writing and placing ads and participating in interviewing as well as instructing staff on interview process and questions.
• Check applicant references, making job offers and initiating needed paperwork.
• Prepare and participate in employee staff meetings.

Education and Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of practical HR experience and a Bachelors Degree in HR Management or related field. PHR/SPHR preferred.
• Ability to convey difficult and challenging information to managers and employees.
• Ability to exercise effective judgment and decision making with sensitivity and professionalism.
• High level of professional and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Solid commitment to employee service.
• Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships and command respect and trust.
• Ability to mentor and interact with employees at all levels.
• Ability to take initiative and manage time and multiple conflicting priorities.
