AV Field Project Manager

The Project Management Office (PMO) provides implementation leadership and ownership for digital signage, AV, broadcast and control room projects. Job Description:

The AV Field Project Manager shall be the primary field contact and coordinator for corporate, educational, gaming, sports, and broadcast clients. They shall be the point person in the field for crew delegation, client communication, installation standards, configuration and training. Communication and leadership must be displayed with a high level of authority. Effective project planning, coordination, documentation and completion with a high level of neatness, accuracy and efficiency are required. Minimal supervision is required from management or PMs.

This customer facing role requires strong communication skills and expectation management. The Project Manager will be expected to manage the customer relationship from contract signature through to execution by the Technical Support. The role requires an understanding of structured project delivery methodologies, vendor management, and customer management in challenging environments. The Field Project Manager will be required to drive project activities in the field.

Job Duties:
◦Work closely with Project Management and Engineering to identify labor and
equipment resources required to complete projects.

◦ Create project timelines utilizing Gantt charts when necessary.

◦Coordination and documentation of technical data per project such as networking serial numbers and power requirements.

◦Utilize company software(s) to access inventory, shipping or order information.

◦Coordinate crew travel when necessary.

◦Track labor on site when necessary.

◦Identify change orders while working with PM and Engineering

◦Work with and manage subcontractors or third party vendors as necessary on site.

◦Produce close out documentation and manuals as necessary.

◦Perform on-site training with clients as necessary.

◦Manage on-site cleanliness and quality control.

◦ Train on site staff/crew for high level effectiveness, planning and efficiency.

◦Maintain on-site safety standards for all crew or third party vendors.

◦Identify on-site challenges and propose solutions and execute as necessary.

◦Identify integration and implementation inefficiencies and propose solutions as necessary.

◦ Provide project summaries as necessary.

◦ Provide employee feedback and evaluations to Field Manager as requested.

◦ Efficiently pull, terminate, label, and test cabling between audio, video, data, and control equipment per code and project requirements

◦ Wiring equipment racks

◦Understand and be able to connect to I.P. devices

Job Requirements:
◦Up to 60% travel, sometimes on a last-minute basis.

◦Occasional night and evening work

◦3+ years of experience working in a Field Project Manager role
◦Expert written and verbal communicator
◦Extremely detail oriented and process driven
◦Exceptional organization, meeting management and presentation skills
◦Ability to effectively prioritize, especially when interfacing with multiple people
◦Self-motivated, able to apply best practices and to contribute to continual improvement initiatives
◦Problem solving and prioritization abilities to focus on core deliverables to keep projects on track
◦Ability to learn new software systems
◦Expert Microsoft Project skills
◦Visio Experience, including creation and reading
◦Experience in Tracking Project Financials – estimation, budgeting, tracking, cost containment, project P&L reporting
◦Experience with Construction and AV a plus for this role


◦High school diploma or equivalent. Two year technical degree in low voltage audio/video electronics and networking.
